Q:  I want to allow other people within my company to edit content on our site, but I don't want to allow them to publish the pages. Is this something I can set up myself?
A: 

In a word, yes. Collaborate™ comes with user permissions and page rights. It means you can do exactly that. All you need to do is to set up the other people with their own username and password, then assign an editor role to them and they will only be able to edit the page and not publish it.

Q:  Does Collaborate™ require software installation on my PC?
A:  No. Collaborate™ is a server-based solution. It will be hosted with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and it can be accessed from anywhere with a broadband connection and a PC.

Q:  How much does Collaborate™ cost?
A: 

Collaborate™ is both a bespoke service and a core product. Site requirements will vary from company to company therefore we cannot publish set prices. Call us to find out more (020 8541 1919).

Q:  I'm scared that I could accidentally delete pages, or make a mistake which ruins the look of the site.
A:  Collaborate™ has a recycle bin and a history facility which keeps a track of the last 3 versions of a page. So if you make a mistake (we all do), then you can simply revert to a previous version. Additionally, the editor will 'clean' your text of any unwanted styles, leaving your content perfectly styled.

Q:  Do I need to buy another version of Collaborate™ if I want to create an intranet or extranet?
A:  Not at all. Setting up an intranet or extranet is easy. All you do is create a new section for your site but only allow staff or clients to see the section simply by changing the permissions. It means if you do not have a password then the section will not be visible to you.

Q:  We don't have the time or the resources to spend hours learning to use new software. How long does it take to be trained?
A:  Usually you can be up and running making content edits to your site in less than 2 hours.

Q:  How long will it take to complete my site?
A:  That largely depends on how much site content there is and the exact specifications. A typical small to medium site comprising of 50 or so pages, will take about 2 months from start to finish.

Q:  Content Managment Systems are often difficult to use and you can't see what a page will look like until you preview it. Does Collaborate™ work like this?
A: 

No. The CMS looks just the same as your live website so you already know how to find your way around. The only difference is that a small pencil will appear next to the text you wish to edit. It's that simple. See the interface.

Q:  Does Collaborate™ come with a site search?
A: 

Yes. The site search is intuitive and comprehensive.

Q:  Some sites do not get indexed by Google. Is this the case with a Collaborate™ powered site?
A: 

No. All pages are Google friendly and there is also a 'submit to google' feature which allows you to submit individual pages for indexing. For proof, type in 'rightscom' into Google and you'll see it appears at the top of the ratings.

Q:  Is Collaborate™ accessible?
A:  Yes. It means level one accessibility requirements are met 'out of the box'. If you have more extensive accessibility needs we can make the appropriate customisations.

Q:  Is Collaborate™ compatible with SQL databases.
A:  Any ODBC compliant database can be integrated with the system. The site itself uses an SQL database to store all the site content.

Q:  Do I need to know HTML or have experience of creating websites?
A:  No. You will not need any specialist skills whatsoever in order to add or edit site content.

Q:  Will there be special hosting arrangements?
A:  Yes. Collaborate™ is created using asp.net and requires a microsoft server running an sql database. Our ISP is competitively priced and is set up to run Collaborate™. We will usually recommend hosting your new site with them.
